Eid Mubarak

22 May 20

As this period of fasting and self-sacrifice ends, we see what this Ramadan during-pandemic has taught us. We have seen how connected we are to one another, whoever and wherever. We have seen how life is when we stand only for ourselves rather than united as one. We see, as it is, everyone only tries to get by.

This Eid al-Fitr during-pandemic should be a fitting occasion to focus on mutual respect, celebrating the values which make us humans. In differences we thrive, in harmony we live. As we gather with our family at home or call them by phone, we accept what is happening and wish them a blessed Eid al-Fitr. This current situation might not be ideal but is enough - for us to appreciate everything we take for granted every day. We could not exchange gifts as we are used to or simply visit our neighbours as we would have, but we could always send our love and prayers. How we are today might keep us distanced, but should not keep us apart.

May the peace and harmony it brings stay with us for the days ahead.

It is as well to inform you that our office shall remain closed this Friday, May 22nd to May 26th on account of the Eid al-Fitr holidays. Our regular routine would resume on May 27th, we wish you a happy Eid Mubarak.
